Something that I wonder about in this is how Jimi Hendrix survived his childhood. He was raised under the care of his abusive father, Al. His mother, Lucille and him divorced. She died a couple of years later. They had his brother Leon on and off. 3 of their children were put up for adoption.

What suprised was that the worlds best guitarist was very poor. He couldn't afford things that were $1. He lived in several houses, including boarding. He lived his first 3 years of life with his mom and other women. Al was in World War 2 at the time. He never had a permanent schol or home.
